   I recommend you to start a site about something that u really like, If you offer SEO´s service but you don´t have your own site you are telling your clients that u don´t belive in your job.

   I don´t think that u need to develop a awesome or unique idea, all that u have to do is create a site and promote it until died, try to select a market like loans or something that may interest companies.

   I’m getting sick of SEO too. There’s too much to keep up on and it’s far too time consuming. PPC has never appealed to me only web design has but that’s far too competitive. What kind of business models do you have in mind?

   I’ve always wondered why more SEO types don’t create their own start ups? It would seem like if there’s a choice between putting in a lot of time to make someone else a profit, vs not that much more time to hit your own bank account … it seems like it would be an easy choice?

    SEO is like swimming upstream if you stop swimming even for a little while you get pushed back to the starting line. Keeping motivated to keep stroking is one the hardest parts of SEO. Good luck with your start-up!

    I have to admit I am wearing out on seo & ppc as well. Mostly because of Google though. They tweak things so much to their advantage, it is tough to get and keep rankings even though your site is the most relevant for the search. It kind of freightens me that one company has so much control over the internet which is supposed to be this free open place for everyone.

    I really can’t stand running an SEM campaign. Infact here’s what *I* hate about SEO.

    First… I like doing SEO. Whaat? Yeah, I know.. bear with me.

    I like doing SEO, but I *only* want to focus on SEO. I know content managment and a link promotion tends to go hand in hand. That’s fine, I can accept that. I still get a huge rush when my clients rank goes up. It’s gratifying to push bad reviews of a client down off the first page, etc.

    BUT… I like doing SEO. Content Managment does NOT mean total web design. I do NOT like web design. I really hate building websites from the ground up. Also, no I don’t want to run your SEM campaign. No I can’t host your website. No I don’t make cool graphics and “sweet” flash animations.

    I make your website rank better, period.

    I think the fact that an SEO often ends up wearing so many more hats then just SEO is what is distracting in the end. (In my situation anyway) My clients on are on a recurring monthly basis, so I suppose it’s natural they expect additional services. I do my best to provide it for them, but at the same time it is a drain to be pulled in so many other directions.

    I have clients where I maintain their entire site, I have one client where I am basically running the site totally, even the hosting.

    It’s just added stress, but I suppose it’s the nature of the beast. I am thankful for what SEO has given to me, but… I wonder if anyone has written an article on life after SEO burn out?

    Yeah, sometimes you have to start a blog, site or business around something that you’re really passionate about. It’s tough to keep pulling those kind of hours doing something that you don’t feel like doing.

    I’d be interested, as many others are, in what new business venture you are going to launch! SEO is still fairly new to me, less than a year, but I can see that it WILL get redundant in the future.

    SEO can be a drag after awhile, especially when you aren’t the developer and you’re reliant on other people to make all of your changes.

    Developers tend to be less than enthusiastic in regards to SEO changes — they think it’s all voodoo. And sometimes it really is.

    I agree with you, seo can be tiresome…just way too much to keep up on and it’s far too time consuming. Not into PPC, just don’t like paying for traffic…but I guess that’s just the game we play. What kind of site you setting up? I’d love to see it.

    i love the point you make about creating something useful and not web 2.0 (ish). But at the same time seo is crucial for almost any business you create. Search engines will continue to gain power and you to be visible.
    I definitely agree the SEO can be very tiring.

    I’m in the same boat. Working online seems to be losing it’s appeal. I long for the days when I actually dealt with people face to face.

    In my opinion, the Web is no longer the be-all and end-all of doing business. Websites are great support tools, but nothing beats building a great bricks and mortar business.

    I agree with you that much of Web 2.0 is a useless mess. But people will read it anyway! Sure beats writing thousands of pages yourself, and it helps the only eyes that count, those of Mr. Googlebot, are illiterate.

    That’s freaking hilarious. All these people chasing social media and all that crap. Get a clue and learn to set your priorities on what truly makes money and then learn to invest to keep it and make more passively.
