   For my money, AdSense is still the way to go. I’ve tried them all…and found them all to be pretty lame, with the exception of AdSense.

   I think, if you’ve got real traffic…even a little, your best bet is to use one ad block and at least one AdLinks unit. The contextual relevance they offer is the best thing out there. No, it’s often not big money…but it’s REAL money…as opposed to the promises that the others offer.

   I will admit that some niche sites can do well with Chitika and other targeted ads…but you have to have two things. Great targeting and people in the mood to buy. Trust me on this: People are not always in the mood to buy…but they are often in the mood to investigate. This is where AdSense can be a winner for you.

   For me also, AdSense is the best. And Yahoo! Publisher Network is a thousand times better than either Adbrite or bidvertiser. For CPM, well I like CPC more but for CPM it’s Federated Media. For CPA, Chitika, Azoogle, PepperJam…

   I use adsense also for my blogs and i also have some strategies how to generate traffics so as to increase my earnings. I dont really consider the CPM/CPA because im not really aware of these things and how it works. Thanks for this piece of information.

   Hmm…Adbrite seems to be a rising star. As for how great it is…. Seeing a lot of people using Glam too, but that’s just on the advertiser side.

   I have tried many others, but the most consistant has and will be Adsense. I have several niche sites and they pull decent traffic and Adsense gets me a fair amount of money. Though I have to admit it could be better, but for the little time I spend I can’t complain.

   I agree with everyone here that AdSense is still the way to go because what you want, really, is not what’s the new rage today but what’s effective. And that’s what AdSense is since it’s still arguably everyone’s preferred choice. Maybe when more users tap into AdBrite, then that would be the right time to make the move into it. But right now, what you want is to go where the market is, and currently that’s AdSense.

   Chitika? Haha I don’t even know what that is. What type of “web property” have you purchased? The type of ads generally depends on the type of content you are attempting to monetize.

    I have to vote for Adsense. Google is the largest advertiser in the world. That’s pretty amazing when you think of where they were 10 years ago. When you join an entity that is on the rise, you will reap the benefits from being associated with them.

    If the downturn in the economy continues, traditional media advertising will decline, but not online advertising. Online is cheaper, better targeted, and clearly the future. Online ads will steal dollars from print media, television, etc. until they are all but finished.

    When the world catches up with online advertising there’ll be an avalanche of money entering the market. You want to be there when that happens with as many floodgates opened. Just think, right now Adsense is in its infancy stage.

    Depends on the countries your visitors come from. AdSense is the only way to go at the moment if most of your visitors come from outside North America. Hopefully, that will change soon!

    The problem with adsense etc, is it takes people away from your site to someone elses, never to return

    I think affiliate marketing is the way, you make your site an authority and only point to a sales page for your affiliate.

    I dont like making 20cents her or there, I would rather make $50 in one go.

    Adsense for me. Nothing else has ever been consistent, however I have had a few successes with Shopzilla, it’s worth having a look at. Never got far with Yahoo, despite 2 applications I never even got a reply from them.

    I feel that AdSense is superior in terms of ad targeting, reporting, and a richer inventory of ads. If I had to choose between AdSense and other services, I would choose AdSense every time. It is my most effective tool for generating income

    i’m also still a fan of adsense. especially when the subject of your website is one where the adsense ads do a better than usual job of targeting your readers (sometimes they match up well, other times, not as well).

    Adsense is losing it’s value. Google are giving less of the share per click now. I average 10c a click whereas last year it as 20c per click.

    I wish Yahoo! would finally release their own ad network to publishers. They could offer cheaper clicks than Google. People are becoming blind to Google Ads and it’s unhealthy that there’s only one major ad network on the internet.

    I’d say that you can start with Google Ads. You have to take into consideration that the whole market is a little down right now, but on the long run, it may prove it’s a good time to start a business.
