Today is the day of lame half-baked announcements and half-made community sites. Today is the day of alcohol-free beer and marijuana-free joints. Today is the day when I give you this url: http://seoprecio.us to drool over and curse me for lamest domain hack ever.

Enjoy the random quote assortment, because it is quite limited and will run out soon. Don’t forget you can leave me your email address if you want to know just what happens to poor Gollum in the end.

Also, you may notice some weirdness, like some other The Precious Group goons announcing the same thing. Don’t worry, it’s not a deja vu; it’s just them changing something in The Matrix.

So long and thanks for all the fish,

Jadehat.

So, the stealth startup I hinted at in the last post is slowly gaining momentum. I’m still not saying anything about the project except it’s going to be a SEO community on steroids, but here is the announcement I have to make.

The Precious Group, the team that develops the site (and I’m a coder in there, oddly enough), gives the privilege to fins four angel testers, and I’m allowed to invite any two persons. Angel tester is a person who represents community and thus, an end user, and who participates directly in development with the dev team providing essential early feedback.

Comment here or drop me a mail at precious@jadehat.com only if you’re really interested in where SEO communities can evolve - and I will choose two random entrees on weekend.

Thanks for your involvement

Ok, so if no delays kick in (and most likely some definitely will), somewhere in August we will begin a closed testing of a new project me and some other fellows in SEO field are doing right at the moment.

Currently, SEO industry is not an industry - it is a playing field for many bastards like myself to exercise in vanity. Talk with any kiddie-webmaster-turned-shitty-seo and you’ll see just how vain and self-indulgent me and my colleagues are.

Thus, every SEO community there is at the moment is either filled with too many dumb/incompetent/noobish people to be useful, or too vain in their elitism and trying to rid of those dumb/incompetent/noobish people to be useful.

That’s why SEO forums fail - and we either have Syndk8-like town-pub-gone-online, or webmaster junkyard like DP.

It is kind of boastful to say that before we even have any running code, let alone society, but current progress indicates that we’ve done impossible: we’ve made Web marketing community that does not suck. As we’ll have any major news — I’ll make another post.

As 99.9999% of my audience are practicing webmasters/SEOs - just what we need - I ask any of you who are interested in participating in top-secret private testing of our thingy to drop a mail at precious@jadehat.com. Cheers!

It seems that I’ve been asked about this hundreds of times already — what’s going on with your startup?

Well, the idea was of RSS recommendation service — you provide feeds you read or credentials to your online feed reader, and our system provides you with feeds you may find enjoyable based on your current preferences.

We started developing it and in a week or so Google Reader rolled out a RSS recommendation system based on pretty much the same algo we had in mind, only based on a much, much larger dataset.

Thus, the site was scrapped, I was dissapointed and decided not to jump at Web 2.0 bandwagon for a time. That’s the fate of the project I was concentrated on for some time.

And it is strange, because while I charge $X0 to $X00 per hour, I do not make as much as it would seem by a large margin.
